Branching Out

I’ve had an Etsy shop for a while now– since March, to be exact. My first listed item was my polymer clay mockingjay pin. I posted it a few weeks before the premiere of the first Hunger Games movie. My success at the time felt immediate with every fabulous fan searching for items to complete their premiere outfits. I made about 20 sales in my first few months. That’s pretty good for a small Etsy shop. Since then it has been slow and difficult to get my shop off the ground. I am having to learn that it’s okay to market myself–something I desperately hate. It’s crazy and it’s a slow process. I’ve ventured on to twitter (you can follow me @kdclayandmore), google+, Facebook, and blogging. Needless to say, this process has already grown and stretched me. It’s scary, but it’s fun. Anyone who sells on Etsy has been where I am now, and there is comfort in that. I’m really excited to see where this adventure will lead, and I hope you’ll join me on the journey.
